My love of fabric and threads has always been an important part of my life, going back to when I first started making my own clothes with a 'Singer' hand sewing machine.
Life for me, consisted of scouring markets in London and abroad for unusual fabrics and hidden treasures, including antique beads, materials and various natural objects. My collection grew and grew and I would never throw anything away.
Following this, the natural progression for me, was to go back to college, I went to Ashford Adult Education Centre where I studied for 4 years taking my City & Guilds in Machine Embroidery and Textile Design. I was very privileged to be able to study with some of the best teachers and tutors in the United Kingdom, experimenting with a wide range of different mediums and techniques.
My style is now easily recognisable by the use of vibrant colours and designs incorporated into all of my work. With a combination machine and hand stitching plus a wide range or yarns, fabrics, beads and ribbons, all the pieces I produce are completely unique. Embellished and hand dyed fabrics, run the entire gamut of embroidery techniques possible, creating beautiful designs, combined with the use of natural elements.
"Textile design stems from the soul, the beauty and richness of colour-combining in silk design and on fabrics is satisfying on all levels" Says Veronica, who is amazingly resourceful at creating the most unique pieces from natural sources.
Her work and talent has taken her all around the world to teach textile and jewellery design to all ages and cultures.
